We welcome all who are wishing to learn Pilates in the Studio environment, using special apparatus based on Joseph Pilates’ original designs. These machines use springs and pulleys to provide resistance and guide the body as it learns to perform the exercises.
The sessions are tailored to the individual. You can choose between one-to-one sessions and group sessions of up to three people.
Payments may be made by cash, cheque or bank transfer.
Rachel Glasspool is a Body Control Pilates certified teacher (1997) and has been teaching both matwork and studio classes for over 20 years. She is also part of the teacher training faculty for BCP.
She originally trained at the Royal Academy of Dancing before studying contemporary at London Contemporary Dance School and then taught and danced for a further 8 years until the birth of her son.
Through BCP she has access to all the latest findings in fields such as hip/knee replacements, breast cancer, pre and post-natal issues, Parkinson’s and osteoporosis.
She has a particular interest and considerable experience in working with postural or injury related problems and pre and post-op rehab.
Rachel teaches Wednesday and Thursday mornings.
Leo Dos Santos is a massage therapist (2001), Sport rehabilitation and science BS (2009), physiotherapist (2010), Pilates teacher in both Mat and studio (2012). He is also a trained Yoga teacher and Qi gong teacher.
He is passionate about movement as a therapy for well-being, favouring a somatic approach to the body and drawing from his multi discipline knowledge to give you the best experience. He has been teaching remedial Pilates since 2012 and is now part of The Putney Clinic Pilates team.
Leo has an impressive knowledge of the physiology, anatomy and energy of the body. He is a warm, very professional and curious about all disciplines concerning a healthy body and mind. Leo teaches Monday all day.
